Sleep apnea treatment requires you to sleep with a mask. It can be difficult to get used to wearing a mask at first, but rest assured, you will soon be enjoying the best sleep of your life.
If you’ve been browsing our selection of CPAP masks, you have noticed the wide variety of styles available. How do you know which one to choose?
Full face masks are designed to cover your nose and mouth, with four points of contact. This design provides optimal therapy for sleep apnea by reducing air leaks (great for mouth breathers!). Full face masks are also great if you are congested. Shop our PAP Full Face Masks.
Nasal masks are designed to cover just your nose, but air can still leak out through your mouth which can affect the quality of your sleep. Some nasal masks have chin straps to keep your mouth closed.
Nasal pillow masks are the least invasive, as they do not cover your nose or your mouth. A nose piece rests gently against your nostrils. You might be able to use a nasal pillow mask if you have very mild sleep apnea. If you are claustrophobic or have a lot of facial hair, this option might be the best choice.

Your doctor will probably specify the type of mask you need – full face, nasal, or nasal pillow – but the style and brand is your choice. You’ll need to find a mask that fits your face comfortably, with a strong seal.
